Why does the construction industry need shot blasting machines?

1. Improve the adhesion of anti-corrosion coatings on steel structures

Steel structures in buildings (such as bridges and factories) must be coated with anti-rust paint before use. Shot blasting machines can thoroughly remove oxide scale and rust from the steel surface, while the high-speed impact of shot creates tiny pits on the surface (professionally called "anchor patterns"). This rough surface allows paint adhesion to be increased several times, thus greatly extending the service life of the steel structure, and the anti-corrosion effect is far superior to simple sanding.

2. Optimize the bonding effect between concrete and asphalt pavement

Whether laying a waterproof layer on a bridge deck, repairing an airport runway, or restoring the friction of an aging road surface, a clean, rough base layer is essential. Shot blasting machines can clean away laitance (a fragile thin layer) from concrete surfaces and oil seepage from asphalt pavements without dust, exposing the solid aggregate. This ensures a firm waterproof layer and restores the road surface's anti-skid properties through a uniformly rough texture, guaranteeing driving safety.
